What is ASIFA?

ASIFA is the Association International du Film d'Animation (International Association of Animated Film), an organization founded in 1960 in Annecy, France, by the most famous animation artists of that time.

The Association is founded in the firm belief that the art of animation can be enriched and greatly developed through close international co-operation and the free exchange of ideas, experience and information between all who are concerned with animation.

Today the association is the oldest animation organization in the world. It has more than 30 chapters worldwide working to coordinate and increase worldwide visibility of animated film.

ASIFA sponsors animation festivals in Annecy, Ottawa, and Hiroshima.
