First, make sure you’re signed in.

To upload still images, click on your avatar. Your member page will pop up with a black navigation bar. On this nav bar, click “Gallery.” Below this, “Create Gallery.” Once you title, describe, and save your gallery, you can begin uploading files. These files will be stored on your member page but viewable to everyone via the gallery directory.

Videos here are embedded. To embed a video, you’ll have to first upload it to either YouTube or Metacafe, currently the only two sites that the plugin recognizes. Note that YouTube gives you the option of keeping your video unlisted, in case you’d like to keep it out of general circulation. If you link to another video site (like Vimeo), the plugin won’t recognize your video and won’t play it on the pop-up display. You will, however, end up with a text link to that site, which is functional but not nearly as cool.

Once you have your video’s URL, head back to this site and click on “Videos,” near the top of the left sidebar. At the top of the Video Directory, click “Add a Video.” Click the “Rights” radio button, paste your video’s URL, and then click “Fetch Page Details.” The link loader is a bit fussy. If the “Save Link” button disappears, just start over.

Let us know if you hit any snags. Otherwise, upload away!
