A twelve-minute documentary about John Halas, one of the founders of ASIFA. The film touches on the original, global mission of ASIFA: to bring artists together from both sides of the Iron Curtain (and elsewhere). Different times, then.
I wanted to see how long it would take me to animate this little ditty if I did all of it my self…. 4 months. incl storyboard, drawing, shooting post and a stack of water color paper about 2 1/2 ft high. I used watercolor pencil crayons, water proof ink markers, some cel and acrylic for the captions.
It was premiered at the ”Atlantic Film Festival” many years ago. Lots of fun to create.
The outdoor animation experiment was a TON of fun I didn’t plan anything out so I had to make something up on the spot and we spent about 4 hours at the park working on them. Next time I’ll plan better but I’m just glad that I finished this one!
