On Saturday, March 19 from 6-10pm, come on out to The Canvas Art Bar and Bistro to catch up with other ASIFA members, have some food and drinks, and watch some animation. We’ll start by screening shorts curated by ASIFA International in commemoration of the organization’s 50th anniversary. The program includes films by Bob Godfrey, Moustapha Alassane, Bordo Dovnikovic, Priit Parn, Abi Feijo, Bretislav Pojar, Nourie Zarrinkelk, David Ehrlich, Michel Ocelot, Ion Popesco-Gopo, and Raoul Servais. After a decent intermission, we’ll screen our second program, A Tribute to the Tournee of Animation and Prescott Wright, The Early Shows 1968-1970, shorts and rarities from an under-studied period. It’ll be a good evening to get reinspired and reconnected, or just to have a beer and watch cartoons.
