Beginning next month, ASIFA Portland is coordinating regular sketchcrawls around the Portland area. These informal meet-ups will happen on the second Saturday of each month at a prearranged spot. Bring your own drawing supplies, see to your lunch, and dress for weather!

On March 12th, Second Saturday Sketching kicks off at the Oregon Zoo.  Rain or shine, we’ll meet up at 10:45am outside the main gates– off to the right, under the overhang. We’ll get everyone signed up and paid up ($5.00 a head) before purchasing the tickets in a single bunch at 11am. If you’re late, we’ll be glad to have you along, but you’ll have to buy your own ticket at $10.50 a pop. The same goes if you’re not a current ASIFA member, AiPD student, PNCA animation student, or LAIKA staffer. Once inside, we’ll scatter for four hours of drawing sun bears, naked mole rats, and whatever else you like. At 3pm, we’ll gather back up at the Zoo Grill to share drawings. The zoo begins shutting down at 4pm, but the grounds stay open till 5pm if you want to stick around.
