What I enjoy about Little Runmo, aside from the charming art style and wonderful animation, is the gradual buildup and raising of stakes until it becomes something truly bizarre. As our protagonist uses life after life trying to progress in their video game level existence, they soon fear wasting their final one as they discover greater and weirder depths to the world they’re in.
