This Wednesday, our friends at the Northwest Film center are hosting an evening with legendary animator Bill Plympton. In their words:

New York’s (and Portland’s) own Bill Plympton is a unique icon in the world of independent animation. His wacked-out humor and astonishing productivity (he incredibly hand-draws every frame of his work) are singularly his own, earning him two Oscar nominations (GUARD DOG and YOUR FACE), top prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (PUSH COMES TO SHOVE) and Annecy International Animation Festival (MUTANT ALIENS and I MARRIED A STRANGE PERSON!), among dozens of recognitions, and praise that ranges from The New York Times’ “mischievous, mordant, analytical, and ceaselessly imaginative” to simply “God” by “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening. Tonight we welcome the animated animator for an evening of recent shorts and new surprises, the chance to own your own original Plympton drawing, and maybe more.
